S1 - Logo 1, Unit 3 test

Now, although this is only the second unit we have done in S1, I hope you have noticed that it is actually unit 3 in the book...?

Anyway, here is the file which contains vocabulary you need to know before the test, AND has a checklist on it for you to use to see if you need to revise any part of the unit in particular...

1P4 will be doing the test on the 14th of December and 1Q3 will be doing their test on the 17th of December.

S1 Update

Homework for 23/09/08 - learn 'In meiner Tasche' vocabulary for a vocab test.
Unit 1 Test - 07/10/08

So far in this unit, we have covered:
     1) Saying hello and goodbye
     2) Asking for someone's name and giving your own
     3) Counting to 31
     4) Names of some European countries
     5) Talking about where you live
     6) The German alphabet
     7) Spelling out words
     8) Talking about what you have in your schoolbag

Seems like a lot, doesn't it?! Make sure you know this really well for this test! In the next few lessons, we are going to quickly go over colours (which you will have done in primary school), classroom commands (playing "Pumpernickel sagt"), dates (when is your birthday?) and saying how old you are.

1P4 - 26th August

Well done to those of you who did well in your vocab check today - I was really pleased with you, particularly with those of you who got 9 or 10 of them correct! However, I was a little disappointed with some of you and the lack of effort that had been put into learning your vocab for today. It is vital that you learn your vocab as what we do now leads on to what we do tomorrow and what we do tomorrow leads on to what we do the next day etc etc.

On a more positive note, it is god to see that you are settling in well to Banff Academy and your behaviour has been very good. Let's keep it that way!

1P4 - 21/08/08

Well, you've obviously found the blog if you're looking at this page...!
Today in class, I was trying to see how much German you had done in your primary school, and I'm glad to see that most of you have done some German and that you're all at roughly the same stage. :-) However, not a lot of you had done any writing in German, so I decided it would be a good idea to start practising spelling etc.
To do that, we copied down the following vocabulary:

Welcome to new S1 and welcome back to everyone else!

Well, as the title says, welcome back for the new session! I bet you're all thrilled to be back! Welcome to the new S1 - it was nice to meet you yesterday. We've a busy year ahead of us - particularly the new S4 and S6 - so I'm expecting lots of effort and hard work from you, so that we can enjoy the year.

Logo 1 Unit 4 Test

Hello new S2 (2Q3/2P4)!

You will be sitting your test on the following dates:

2P4 - 1st July 2008                          2Q3 - 30th June 2008

It will probably take 2 periods for most of us to complete the test.

Here are some documents to help you with your revision. Please try to learn this vocabulary and I would also suggest that you look over the work we did on the time (hint hint...). If you know this - and the writing we prepared in class - then you will have absolutely no problems with the test!
