Well today was a pretty quiet day as we had our usual language class in the morning, revising for our test the next day, but only till 10.30am
as we had the chance to practise for our performance the next day. So we had fun dancing away in the class room while Ailith and Lindsey played away on the whistle and fiddle and Charlottewas outside, hiding from people, playing the pipes. Then Charlottecame in and played in the room with us, deafening as anything! We had an okish lunch. At 2 o’clockwe had Chinese folk music, oh what fun that was! Sounded hilarious! Some boys from another school were really getting into it! Charlottemade a pretty drawing of our special place, consisting of padded walls and no sharp objects! Now it’s the afternoon and I’m doing this, and we are all going out for dinner at a Mongolian restaurant near Tiananmen Squaretonight. And Miss Pallut isn’t letting Charlotteand I watch our funny videos we made until I finish this… done! So away to watch videos now, bubi love Jenny and Sheep who hasn’t been mentioned much in this blog but he is about the place! Xxxxx Back from restaurant, it was emm… interesting! Unfortunately Ruth and Mairi were in a taxi on their own and it went to the wrong restaurant and couldn’t get to our one so had to go back to the school. At the place we had our own little air conditioned tent in the place which was nice as there was really big seats that you could just lie back on! We tried what we think was yak’s milk and other weird stuff that looked like cheese but certainly wasn’t. For dinner we had half a lamb presented to us and it was huge! Then Laura ordered us some rice cakes that didn’t have rice in them, more like bean paste and fig. And some beef things which people thought was more like beef stew at home, but the best thing, I think anyway, was the scrambled egg and nan bread! After we had eaten, some Mongolian singers and dancers came into our tent and performed and that was good. When we left and arrived back at school some of us went to the little coffee place called UBC just outside the campus for drinks and then we came back and revised for our test the next day. Love Jenny xxxxx
