Treffpunkt: Arranging a date with a friend

Class 1L2 made some recordings of conversations they made in pairs, arranging to go out somewhere with a friend. They were written and recorded in about 25 minutes, so they aren't perfect but we had fun making them!

2E1 Comic Relief Song (Beyans Geschichte)

2E1 have recorded a song called "Beyans Geschichte" (Beyan's Story) for Comic Relief. Beyan is a 10 year old Ethiopian girl who is featured on the official Comic Relief website. You can read her story here:

2E1 Café scene Podcast and Poster competition

Last week the pupils of 2E1 had a poster competition. In groups of 3, they had to design a poster about Montrose, making them as colourful and interesting as possible, but also using as much German as possible. Well done to Naomi, Daniel and Kieran M, who won the prize for the best poster. You can see all of them here.

The 2nd activity that the groups had to prepare, was a script for a café scene which we recorded. You can listen to all their work here:

The competition for this one was very hard to decide, but well done to Laura, Stuart and Rosie who win the prize for the best script!

3Q Holidays podcast

Over the past week, class 3Q have been doing some groupwork on the topic of holidays. The final task of the week was to produce a talk about a fictional past holiday that they spent together. On the whole the groups worked very well together, and there have been some impressive results.

A couple of the boys taught me some of the sound effects in audacity, so they have been used a little bit in the recording. Kane, I hope you don't mind the minnie mouse voice. I knew if anyone could take a joke it would be you!

2E1, Our first podcast

Class 2E1 did a very good job today of recording their first podcast. They split into groups and made dialogues/radio interviews about what there is to do in Montrose....and here are the results! You will hear 5 groups in total (more may be added later, as we didn't have time to finish).

1L2 Writing Challenge

This morning we had a writing challenge. Everyone had 15 minutes to write a letter to a friend, using vocab sheets, dictionaries, text books, and even some knowledge carried over from primary school to help them. After everyone had written their letters, they got into small groups and read each other their letters. There was then a vote in each group, and the letter that was voted the best was recorded. 'Best' didn't necessarily mean the best German. It was made clear from the start of the exercise, that the groups could take into account the effort put in, the presentation (pronunciation, expression in voice, etc). Anyway, here are the results of our work today, recorded against some background music that you might recognise!

We are class 4P2, and welcome to our radio station! For our first programme, we are out and about in the streets of Montrose, interviewing people about their jobs. We hope you understand everything. There are a couple of mistakes but we did pretty well for our first proper programme. Enjoy!
